Microscope Maintenance

November 2, 2021

The microscope is a tool that allows you to observe objects that are too small to be seen with the naked eye. The most common type and the first to be invented is the light microscope.

The recommended maintenance for microscopes must be carried out every year to prevent and always be able to work with the equipment correctly.

The 7 most important points that you should take care of in your microscope:

  1. Use Cover objects in your samples to avoid contaminating the optical system with any external agent.
  2. Use a voltage regulator to avoid overloads
  3. Keep your equipment covered with suitable covers, this will avoid dirt on mechanisms and optical systems
  4. Carry out maintenance in authorized centers or with personnel trained to carry out these maintenance
  5. If your equipment gets very hot, allow it to cool down after a certain amount of time to prevent your samples from deteriorating.
  6. Avoid greasing the microscope mechanisms, most greases only get worse as they accumulate dust and dirt.
  7. After using your microscope avoid moving it, allow it to cool to move it, this will help prolong the life of the lighting system.
