The Ohmmeter uses a galvanometer, which is an electric current meter. It works like a transducer, receiving the electric current and causing alterations in a pointer that is the one that indicates the measurement accordingly. This meter is used to determine the current flowing through the resistance and thus estimate it.

The ohmmeter setting is also a separate point that you must understand to make a good measurement. If you have an automatic one, you should simply adjust it to the “Ohm” position, if this is not the case, you should place it in the lowest position. You will probably need to adjust the scale, if so just make sure it is at a point where the values ​​are stable and there is a detectable resistance level.

Certain points to keep in mind when you make the measurement is that if you cannot adjust the ohmmeter to “zero” you must subtract the value that it marked from the result it returns. On the other hand, all bodies have a resistance, so if you measure an object that shows a very low one, keep in mind that the same ohmmeter will have one and will reflect it.

This is different by the number of terminals, since it does not have two but four, two to carry the current as in the usual ones and the other two measure the voltage between the terminals.

  • Extreme precision

Needless to say, this one has more precision than the previous ones. These are the ones that use circuits instead of batteries to generate the current.
